Privacy policy

This page explains what data we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Who is responsible for your data

Data is controlled by About Watercolour, New Jersey, United States. For anything to do with your data, write to kazartapp@gmail.com.

What we collect

**When you create an account:** your email address. We never ask for or store a password — signing in works through a one-time link.

**When you use the service:** which lessons you have watched and how far through, what you have saved, any ratings or comments you leave, and your language and theme preference.

**When you subscribe:** your subscription status, plan and next billing date. We do not receive or store card details — those are entered on Stripe's own pages.

**Technical data:** IP address, browser type and server request logs, kept for security and for diagnosing faults.

Why we do it

  • To give you access to what you paid for, and withhold it from those who did not — performing our contract with you.
  • To resume playback where you left off and show what you saved — performing our contract.
  • To send subscription email: confirmations, trial-ending reminders, failed-payment notices — performing our contract.
  • To protect the service from abuse and investigate faults — our legitimate interest.

We show no advertising, we do not sell or share your data with advertisers, and we build no advertising profiles.

Who we share it with

We use companies that process data on our behalf:

  • **Supabase** — database and sign-in. Holds your email address and viewing history. Servers in the United States.
  • **Cloudflare** — hosting, page and video delivery. Processes technical request data.
  • **Stripe** — payment processing. Receives your email address and payment details directly from you. Stripe's policy: stripe.com/privacy
  • **Resend** — sending email, including sign-in links.

Beyond that, we disclose data only where the law requires it.

Cookies and local storage

We use only what the service needs to work: a session cookie so you stay signed in, and storage of your language and theme choice. We run no third-party advertising or analytics cookies, which is why you see no consent banner — there is nothing to consent to.

How long we keep it

  • Account data — for as long as the account exists.
  • Viewing history and saved lessons — for as long as the account exists.
  • Payment records — as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically seven years.
  • Technical logs — up to 30 days.

If you delete your account we delete your data, apart from the payment records we are obliged to keep.

Your rights

You can:

  • get a copy of your data;
  • correct data that is wrong;
  • delete your account and your data;
  • object to or restrict processing;
  • receive your data in a machine-readable form.

Write to kazartapp@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK and think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to your national supervisory authority.

Sending data outside your country

Our servers and providers are mainly in the United States. If you use the service from the EU, the UK or Russia, your data is transferred to the United States. For transfers from the EU and UK we rely on standard contractual clauses agreed with our providers.

Children

The service is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this page. The date at the top shows when it last changed. We will email you about anything material.
